ink software package provides tool for checking the ink level of your local printer, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ink
ink is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ink package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ink *
You will get with ink package name, version, architecture and description in a table
